October 5th, we published some critical upgrades for Cadoo to improve your experience.
We've simplified the app for the duration of the release and you will notice that some elements might be missing.
This major overhaul will allow us to build features and make improvements much faster as well as give our members better visibility into what happens behind the scenes @ Cadoo.
What you need to do:
Update your app in the app store, if auto-updates aren't turned on.
Reset your password (maybe).
Reconnect your Garmin, Strava, and Fitbit accounts.
Contact support for any reason during the transition. We're here for you!
What's new:
Join challenges with any compatible wearable or app. No more Strava exclusives.
Your data gets synced in 30 minutes (or instantlyπ), not 24 hours.
Unlock your entry fee as soon as you complete a challenge.
Customer Support has a new suite of tools to solve your issues in minutes.
Changes
These are the changes that you can expect to encounter when you get back inside Cadoo.
Hopefully all the new features we ship in the next few weeks will make it worth the hassle π’.
π You might need to reset your password
If you usually log into Cadoo with a username and password, you might be required to reset your password before you log in. Note that you may reset your password to be the same as it was before the release.
We wish we could have done this for you and save you the hassle, but Cadoo does not have access to your login credentials.
If you usually sign up with Google, Apple or Facebook, nothing has changed
β‘ Connections powered by Terra
Cadoo has partnered with Terra to sync your activities.
With Terra, we are able to get your fitness data in 30 minutes, not 24 hours.
Terra will also enable us to add new fitness integrations, fast.
Expect to see Peleton, Zwift, and Whoop integrations added very soon.
π° A little extra cash
You might notice that your balance has increased by a few cents, possibly a few dollars.
This is due to the fact that we no longer store your transactions with fractional pennies.
We rounded every transaction in the direction most favorable to our members.
Credits transactions have been rounded down. Debit transactions have been rounded up.
β Transaction data temporarily hidden
We are currently changing the way transactions are shown. We will bring back your previous transaction history in a week.
Your transaction history is intact, it is only hidden during the transition.
If you would like to see your transaction history while it's still being rebuilt, feel free to reach out to support and request a screenshot or CSV of your records.
β Updated Leaderboards tab
Unfortunately, the "Top Winners" leaderboard did not display the true numbers for our users' net earnings.
We were mistakenly including old transactions that did not belong in the calculation. This has resulted in inflated numbers for our top earners.
We have since fixed the calculation and the correct numbers are now shown on the leaderboard. If you were a top winner, your rank on the leaderboard may have changed.
Thankfully, we are certain that wallet balances have remained accurate.
π€ User profiles
We've reset the number of followers everyone has but the "Follow" button still works.
Feel free to refollow your friends, we promise we won't reset them again.
π¦ Old Challenges temporarily hidden
The challenges that ended prior to October 1st will be hidden during the transition period.
The reason for this is technical, but it's mostly to ensure challenge outcomes are not counted twice.
Your win-vs-loss status on past challenges has not changed. It is safely stored inside our database. These will be remade visible in the app by Tuesday, October 2nd.
β±οΈ Extended grace period
We have extended the grace period to verify the activities of challenges ending October 4th.
Users now have until Friday, the 7th, to update their app, connect Cadoo with Terra, and verify their activities.
This will delay the distribution of earnings to the challenge "Winners", but you'll get your challenge entry fee back ASAP.
